Romania: RO e-Transport System – app available
The Ministry of Finance of Romania informed that the App e-Transport can be download from Google Play. It will also be available in the App Store today.

The application is available in Romanian and English.
To access the application, it is necessary to complete the registration process and create a user profile:
- To register, enter the required fields displayed on the screen. Completing the fields marked with “*” is mandatory.
- Press the button “Continue” to navigate to the next screen.
- You will receive, automatically, via SMS, a 4-digit code required for “Confirmation” of the enrolment process. If you do not receive any SMS, press the button “Resend Code”.
- Enter the code received via SMS. If the numbers entered are correct, the registration process will be completed automatically. If the numbers are entered incorrectly, enter them again, carefully checking the received SMS.
Note that the App is still being tested.
From 1 July 2024, the Romanian authorities (officers of the National Agency of Fiscal Administration, officers of the Romanian Customs Authority, and officers and police agents of the Romanian Police) apply sanctions if the driver does not present the UIT code when checked by the aforementioned control authorities. No fines are applied for not entering the UIT codes in the application and not transmitting GPS coordinates.
The national system for monitoring the road transport of goods e-Transport aims to combat evasion by monitoring the road transport on the national territory of goods with a high fiscal risk and the international road transport of goods.
UNTRR will share updates on RO e-Transport System as soon as more information is available.
In addition the Romanian Ministry of Finance and ANAF officially informed on the launch of the e-Transport GPS Monitoring Application.
However, the application is still being approved on the Apple Store and Google Play platforms. It is expected to be operational and available for download by 15 July 2024, at the latest. During the period from 15 July 2024 to 31 August 2024, the e-transport application will be in the technical parameter testing phase.
Therefore, the provisions on the offenses related to the non-compliance by the transport vehicle driver and the transport operator with obligations related to vehicle positioning and the UIT code will be applicable from 1 September 2024.
The application of sanctions provided by the e-Transport legislation was postponed until 1 January 2025 for authorised economic operators.
