INTERNATIONAL NEWS09 July 2024
DN7 Romania

The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) informed that, for the execution of clearing works on the slope located in the DN 7, driving restrictions will be enforced on the road sector between km 242+600 and km 250+000, between 8 July to 9 August 2024, daily between 06:00 and 20:00.

Detour routes:

For vehicles with a maximum authorized total weight of more than 7.5t:

    Bucharest → A3 → Ploiești  → DN1A → Brașov → DN 1 → Veștem – junction with DN 7
  • Between Pitești – Brașov and return:
    Pitești → DN73 – A3 → Râșnov  → Brașov
  • Between Bucharest – A1 Simeria (as well as the western, central and northern areas of the country) and return:
    1. Bucharest → A1 → Pitești → DN7 → Râmnicu Vâlcea → DN67 → Târgu Jiu → DN66 → Simeria → Road Node Simeria A1
    2. Bucharest → A1 → Pitești → DN65 – DEx12 → Craiova → DN6 → Filiași → DN66 → Târgu Jiu → DN66 → Simeria → Road Node Simeria A1
    3. Bucharest → A1 → Pitești → DN65 – DEx12 → Craiova → DN6 → Dr. Tr. Severin → DN6 → Lugoj → A6 → Road Node Lugoj A1

Road traffic between Râmnicu Vâlcea and the work point at km 242 + 600, as well as between Sibiu/Boita and the work point at km. 250 + 000 will be on DN7.

For vehicles with a maximum authorized total weight < 7.5t, the national and county roads in the vicinity of the sector closed to traffic on DN7 can be used as detour routes.

Actions were also initiated to allow access to DN10, Buzău – Brașov, for vehicles with a maximum authorized total weight of up to 30t.

In addition, measures were taken so that on the recommended and proposed options, during this entire period of driving restrictions, no other driving restrictions are in place that could affect the flow and safety of road traffic, and where they exist, they are lifted in the shortest possible time (as in the case of the driving restriction for the rehabilitation of the bridge located on DN1 km 194+400 in the area of Vlădeni, where road traffic is carried out with traffic lights and traffic signals on a single lane in both directions).

The works currently being carried out are to be completed in approximately 2 weeks, their continuation being resumed after the lifting of the restrictions on DN7.

Traffic users are asked to follow the road signs in this area, and also use the route options proposed on the following connections:

  • Făgăraș →DN1 → Șercaia → DN73A → Brașov and return
  • Făgăraș →DN1 → Șercaia → DN1S → Hoghiz → DN13 → Brașov and return

The map with detour routes is available here.
