Bulgaria: On June 30 and July 1, at temperatures above 35 degrees, the movement of trucks over 20 tons will be restricted in the afternoon
The Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency informs that on June 30 and July 1, due to the expected high temperatures above 35 degrees, the movement of trucks over 20 tons will be restricted between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. on certain sections of the national road network in 15 districts. These are: Sofia, Ruse, Silistra, Razgrad, Targovishte, Shumen, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Vidin, Montana and Vratsa. The vehicles will wait outside the roadway in certain places, without hindering other road users.
The restriction does not apply to trucks transporting perishable foods, temperature-controlled cargo, live animals and dangerous goods (ARD).
Further details:
- On the Hemus Motorway, at air temperatures above 35 degrees, the movement of vehicles over 20 tons will be temporarily restricted in sections of the motorway in the districts of Sofia, Lovech and Targovishte.
- In the afternoon, between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m., the movement of trucks over 20 tons on the I-1 Vidin - Vratsa road will be restricted in the districts of Vidin, Montana and Vratsa. In Vidin district, the restriction will be at force also on the section of road II-11 Dunavtsi - Dobri Dol /from km 0 to km 23/ and on road III-112 Dobri Dol - Topolovets /from km 0 to km 10/.
- Traffic will also be temporarily restricted on a section of road I-6 from the Kalofer turnoff to the "Petolachkata" road junction.
- In Stara Zagora district, the passage on road I-5 Gabrovo - Kazanlak will be temporarily restricted in the section from the border with Gabrovo district at the "Shipka" pass to the village of Byal Izvor /from km 170 to km 266/. There will also be a restriction for heavy goods traffic on road II-66 in the section from the village of Bogomilovo to the road junction of the "Trakia" motorway in the area of the village of Svoboda /from km 72 to km 91/. The passage of trucks will also be temporarily suspended on the third-class road III-663 in the Chirpan - Celina section /from km 0 to km 15/.
- On June 30 and July 1 in the afternoon hours at temperatures above 35 degrees, between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m., the movement of trucks over 20 tons will be temporarily restricted and on road sections in Northern Bulgaria - in the districts of Ruse, Silistra, Razgrad, Targovishte, Shumen, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Lovech and Gabrovo.
- There will be restrictions on the movement of heavy trucks on the first-class road I-2 Ruse - Varna, in the sections in the districts of Ruse, Razgrad and Shumen, from km 12 to km 146.
- In the districts of Pleven, Lovech and Veliko Tarnovo, traffic will be restricted on the I-3 road in the section from km 7 to km 170, after the road junction for the village of Strahilovo to the Yablanitsa region.
- The passage of heavy trucks over 20 tons will also be temporarily suspended on the I-4 road from Koritna to Shumen, which passes through the districts of Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte and Shumen.
- Restrictions will also be introduced on the I-5 Ruse - Gabrovo road, in the section from km 6 to km 115, passing through the districts of Ruse and Veliko Tarnovo. Truck traffic will also be stopped on the II-55 Debelets - Predela - Gurkovo road, in the section from Debelets to the village of Panicherevo. The section is on the territory of the districts of Veliko Tarnovo and Stara Zagora.
- The movement of vehicles over 20 tons will be temporarily restricted on the I-7 Silistra - Shumen road, on the territory of both districts.
