Certificate of Professional Competence for Drivers (CPC for Drivers)

OFAE’s training center for the Certificate of Professional Competence for Drivers (CPC for Drivers) offer refresher courses on driving knowledge, provisions, modern concepts in transport and development of new skills to drivers who hold a driving license category D1, D1+E, D, D+E issued before 10-09-2008 or hold a driving license category C1, C1+E, C, C+E issued before 10-09-2009, who must undergo periodic examination-free theoretical training in order to practice the profession of driver.

Under Presidential Decree 74 transposing Directive 2003/59/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the initial qualification and periodic training of drivers of certain road vehicles for the carriage of goods or passengers, professional drivers must obtain an accreditation of professional driving ability (CPC) and have their licenses stamped with code 95.

The purpose of CPC for professional bus or lorry drivers and the key objective of OFAE training centers is to increase road safety, encourage the update and ongoing upgrade of the drivers’ knowledge and skills, the acknowledgement and certification of professional driving ability, the upgrade and guarantee of the profession of bus or lorry driver.

Until 9 September 2013 for passenger transport and until 9 September 2014 for freight transport, all drivers must obtain a CPC after they attend periodic training programmes.

Supporting documents for enrolment with the School:

  • Copy of ID card or passport;
  • Copy of valid driving license category D1 or D or D1E or DE / C1 or C1E or CE;
  • An application stating the permanent residence and the category of the vocational training certificate to be renewed (bus/lorry); and
  • Copy of the valid Certificate held (if any)

CPC for Drivers for freight or passengers                           EUR 80.00

CPC for Drivers for freight & passengers                           EUR 100.00

 

ATTENDANCE - The minimum duration of each training program is 35 hours.

VALIDATION - Professional Competence Certificates (CPC) are valid for 5 years and renewed under the same procedure.

OFAE undertakes all the necessary procedures required for the renewal and the consideration of your professional driving license.
