New electronic toll system in the Russian Federation

Please find enclosed an important announcement published by the Russian Transport Ministry today, available in English and Russian. In short, until 1st May 2016, HGV owners are exempt from any fines when driving on Federal Highways outside of the Moscow Region. Moreover, Order of 3rd November 2015 No. 1191 of the Russian Government has been published and amends the toll tariff per 1 km: • until 29th February 2016: 1,53 RUB per 1 km • from 1st March 2016 to 31 December 2018: 3,06 RUB per 1 km .
