Romania: Holders of TIR carnets who use the TIR-EPD application will have priority at the Albița and Siret border customs offices

The Romanian Customs Authority informed that starting from 1 August 2024, as part of a pilot project initiated by the customs, transport operators who use TIR carnets along with sending advance cargo information via TIR-EPD will be able to use a priority lane dedicated to AEOs and empty trucks at the entry to Romania through two borders crossing points – Albița (adjacent to Leuseni on the Moldovan side) and Siret (adjacent to Porubne on the Ukrainian side). The signs indicating such prioritisation will guide hauliers accordingly.

Only TIR operators who have submitted TIR-EPD will be able to benefit from this additional facilitation mechanism.
