France: Mont Blanc tunnel conducts maintenance work
INTERNATIONAL NEWS13 November 2020
During the months of November and December 2020, the GEIE-TMB will carry out numerous maintenance work that will require the total interruption of traffic. In the Mont-Blanc Tunnel, the last two months of 2020 will be affected by 9 total traffic interruptions, some of them during daylight hours as well, to which will be added 6 nights with alternating traffic. In addition to the usual interruptions for recurrent maintenance work and the quarterly safety exercise, the last two months will also be affected by two additional interruptions of 37 and 35 hours each, during the last two weekends of November:
These interruptions will be used to carry out asphalt work on two tunnel sections, for a total of approximately 1100 linear meters. By their nature, and in order to guarantee the safety of users and workers on these sites, these operations cannot be carried out under traffic. The complete schedule of total interruptions and nights under alternating traffic is given below. It is recommended that users inform themselves about the conditions of viability of the tunnel by consulting the website and the Mont Blanc Tunnel app: www.tunnelmb.net and TMB Mobility.
