Due to a landslip that occurred on Sunday 27 August, access to the Fréjus tunnel is still closed to trucks (>3.5t) and buses/coaches on both sides.
The RD1006 is closed in both directions between the RD 1006/RD 215 intersection and the Freney interchange.
The A43 motorway is cut between ramps n°29 and n°30 in both directions between Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne and Le Freney, at least until Friday.
New rockslides occurred and could still happen.
Diversions (at least until 30 August 2023):
Drivers heading to Italy in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region are advised to follow the itineraries communicated on the roadside messages.
HGVs and coaches are invited to go through the Mont-Blanc tunnel or the A8 motorway (especially for the transport of hazardous materials as the Mont-Blanc tunnel does not accept ADR).
A diversion has been set up via the RD 215, especially for light vehicles. It is prohibited for heavy goods vehicles over 6 m long, except for local services.
