Protest in Bulgaria

The transport industry in Bulgaria is protesting today in Sofia and other cities - Plovdiv, Burgas, Varna, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Gabrovo, Pleven, Yambol, Ruse, Vidin, Pirdop, Zlatitsa, Blagoevgrad, Dupnitsa, Svilengrad and other settlements in the country due to the lack of concrete decisions after the 4-hour meeting yesterday evening with the Prime Minister and other competent ministers. Transport operators do not envisage to block roads and border crossings but traffic delays are possible during the movement of the heavy vehicles to the cities.
Apart from the protests of the carriers, a civil protest of dissatisfied citizens with the tax and social policy of the government was announced on media today, which plans to block the Bulgarian-Greek border crossing point Kulata today, May 18, 2022 from 10:00 to 15:00.
