The final UK Government Border formalities outreach events of 2020 will take place on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 Dec
What are the events?
Tuesday 15 December: Short straits and UK landbridge
Wednesday 16 December: non-short straits direct crossings
Both events will be case study based (illustrating end-to-end journeys) and have breakout sessions, including on customs, sanitary and phyto-sanitary measures; traffic management/transport information; EEA/EFTA
Why are these events important?
There will be a short window before changes take place on 1 January 2021 in which the UK Government can provide a final 2020 update on cross-border arrangements for companies in the UK and Europe. These events will be the final mass outreach, although there will be further events in 2021.
The target audience for these UK and Europe wide events is businesses/traders, transporters/logistics/hauliers, local officials who need to know about the changes.
